Gorgeous glassy gloss and glimmer,
Burning pricks of light which glow
Upon a beast of ebony
With teeth of purest ivory
Eighty-eight.
Chandeliers of tinkling treble,
Kaleidoscopes of burly bass.
A devils grin which rings and screams;
An angels laugh which sings and dreams
Eighty-eight.
Fragile fingers dance across
A universe of silver sound.
Infinity upon a touch
Eternity within so much
As eighty-eight.

the depth and wisdom, the love and frivolity...the sweetness, the boldness....the elegance and the frankness of...
